Barks and Rec dog park opens in North Little Rock

North Little Rock, Arkansas, has been “going to the dogs,” but it’s definitely a positive thing. After a historic flood in May 2019, the North Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department got to work relocating the Burns Park Dog Park that had been ruined in the flood. In a matter of weeks, the new, leash-free dog park – christened “Barks and Rec” this week – was up and running, with fenced areas for small (30 pounds and under) and large dogs (more than 30 pounds).

Besides the dog park, Burns Park offers plenty of trails and outdoor recreation for people to enjoy with leashed pets. Burns Park is open daily, 6 a.m. to midnight.
