May 1, 2021, was the inaugural 501 Day celebrating all things local in the 501 area code. Various organizations, city departments and groups in North Little Rock participated in a variety of ways, from discounts to special events. Attractions like the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, Burns Park Golf Course, the North Little Rock Welcome Center and Funland Amusement Park offered 501 Day deals. North Little Rock CVB hosted free classes and performances by Ballet Arkansas at Argenta Plaza; North Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department hosted a disc golf tournament; Keep North Little Rock Beautiful hosted a cleanup; Glenview Community Center had a kids fun day play day with nerf wars and dodgeball, and Argenta Branch Library hosted a special storytime. Simmons Bank Arena hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic and several restaurants had special 501 Day deals.
