“Violin Virtuosos,” a program of music composed for and dedicated to famous violinists, will be played by violinist Kiril Laskarovand pianist Carl Anthony in the first event of Festival of the Senses’ 2022–23 season on Tuesday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m.

All Festival of the Senses performing arts events are free and open to the public and are held at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 JFK Boulevard in North Little Rock.

The program will include compositions by Fritz Kreisler, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Jules Massenet, and Johannes Brahms, as follows:

  • Praeludium and Allegro by Fritz Kreisler (187562), attributed to Gaetano Pugnani (1731–1798)
  • Allegro Moderato from Violin Concerto, Opus 35, by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840–1893), composed for Josef Kotek (1855–1885), originally dedicated to Leopold Auer (1845–1930), rededicated to and premiered by Adolph Brodsky (1851–1929)
  • Meditation from “Thais” by Jules Massenet (1842–1912), arranged by Martin Pierre Marsick (1847–1924)
  • Scherzo by Johannes Brahms (1833–1897), dedicated to Joseph Joachim (1831–1907)

The concert will be followed by a reception in the parish hall to meet the performers and will be livestreamed and viewable later at www.facebook.com/frcarey.
