On March 31, 2023, North Little Rock experienced a EF3 tornado that traveled through Burns Park as well as the Amboy and Indian Hills neighborhoods. Several homes were destroyed as well as businesses. The City of North Little Rock quickly responded, establishing an Emergency Operations Center and assisting citizens affected by the tornado. Recovery has begun but it will be a long process before the city will return to normal.
