Downtown Riverside RV Park celebrates ten years

Since opening in 2008, North Little Rock’s Downtown Riverside RV Park has hosted 46,500 RVers from all 50 states and several countries. “The park is an unusual experience for RVers, who mostly stay in secluded natural areas,” said Bob Major, President & CEO of the North Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Here, guests can park next to the Arkansas River, watch the river bridges light up at night, ride their bikes on the Arkansas River and jump on a streetcar to dining and entertainment – all without unhitching their Jeep.” More…

The Old Mill wins TripSavvy Editors’ Choice Award

The Old Mill at T. R. Pugh Memorial Park in North Little Rock has been named a winner in the inaugural TripSavvy Editors’ Choice Awards. The Old Mill is the only winner from Arkansas among 43 worldwide attractions in the 2018 Historic Attractions category. The Old Mill is a replica of an 1800s grist-mill and is most recognized as the last standing structure from the 1939 film, Gone with the Wind.

Purchase transit passes on free app

Central Arkansas’s transit service Rock Region METRO has begun offering riders a free smartphone app to purchase passes from anywhere. Token Transit is a free mobile app that accepts debit and credit card payments and requires users to have Internet access. All METRO buses and streeetcars are equipped with free WiFi to aid riders. Through November 10, riders get a 50-percent discount on their first single, in-app purchase of a bus or streetcar pass. The streetcars are a fun, easy way to get around town, especially on busy weekends when there’s a lot to do downtown and you don’t want to worry about parking.

North Little Rock eateries featured on Food Network

A few weeks ago, Guy Fieri of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” was in town and filmed at two North Little Rock restaurants. Flyway Brewing was in episode 5 of season 29 and North Bar was in episode 6 of the popular show. Flyway Brewing is a ten barrel microbrewery that prides itself on “protecting our local land and the living things that thrive here.” North Bar is known for its burgers – but also serving up delicious takes on vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Santa’s coming

Santa is coming to town on a North Little Rock fire truck, arriving at McCain Mall on November 16 at 6 p.m. Santa and Fire Department members will parade through the mall to Center Court, where kids can join him for milk, cookies and photos at his sleigh.

The next morning at 9 a.m., kids are invited to breakfast and holiday crafts with Santa. Reservations must be made in advance.

Santa will be at McCain Mall until December 24 for photos. To skip the line, reserve a FastPass.
