Hidden gems: Red Door Gallery

In the Park Hill Historic District of North Little Rock, Red Door Gallery at 7315 JFK Boulevard has been displaying and selling fine art for more than three decades.

Since 2006 when Melody and Steve Stanley took over, Red Door Gallery has only offered original art work. Several artists from Arkansas and surrounding states, as well as artists from France and Spain have been featured. From over-sized canvases to original blown-glass chandeliers, from watercolor to sculpture, from traditional to contemporary, Red Door offers a wide variety.

“In a world where change seems to be the only constant there’s something to be said for longevity and quality,” Melody Stanley says. “Red Door Gallery has flourished in the Historic Park Hill neighborhood for over 37 years by providing exceptional art and customer service.”

“Jack of all trades”

Red Door is more than just an art gallery for fine art – the staff are well-rounded in the skills necessary for preserving and displaying artwork. The manager Kelly Strother, who has been with the gallery for 16 years and associate Philip Kirkpatrick, who has been with the gallery for a collective 19 years, are experts at custom framing and shadowboxing. They’ve seen it all: baby shoes, a child’s first drawing, diplomas, even small antiques. They can even de-acidify any document for longer preservation.

“We put our heart into placing art in corporate and residential spaces that evoke emotion and bring joy, rather than simply filling the walls,” Melody explains. “We love what we do because we understand the power of art to move our customers. Whether they are seeking a special gift, bringing us a custom framing project, or adding to their art collection, we get to impact their lives in a positive way. It’s a small act that is huge to us.”
