Just going with the flow: Jimmy Buffett party relocated

Due to river flooding, the tailgating festivities scheduled for June 6, 2019, prior to the Jimmy Buffett concert at Verizon Arena will be relocated to Riverfront Drive in North Little Rock, north of the sea wall.

Riverfront Drive will be closed from Willow Street to Cypress Street from Wednesday, June 5, at 9 a.m. to Friday, June 7, at noon. At 8 a.m. on June 6, the public entrance at Willow Street and Riverfront Drive will open for tailgaters. Tailgating will be $50 per spot, one vehicle per spot, and on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free, open to the public and pedestrians are welcome to attend without tailgating. Though parking downtown is free, it is limited, and concert parking is usually $10 at nearby lots. Pedestrians can enter the event at Cypress Street or Olive Street.

The Little Rock Parrot Head Club will start the festivities at 11 a.m. with food trucks, live music, libations and special activities. 103.7 The Buzz will begin broadcasting live as part of its “Don Julio Buzzaritaville” in the tailgating area at 11 a.m. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce will host its “Margaritaville” Business After Hours in its parking lot at 100 Main Street with live music, food and networking.

Verizon Arena will open the doors at 6:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. concert. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster. The last time Jimmy Buffett came to North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena in 2012, it was to play to a sellout crowd of more than 16,000.
