Local artisan Bang-Up Betty, Laman Library team up for Bang-Up Book Club in North Little Rock

An early June 2021 tweet thread sparked a fun idea to hide handmade treasures in library books; only two months later, North Little Rock artisan Bang-Up Betty and Laman Library have made every bibliophile’s dream come true with the invention of the Bang-Up Book Club.

Hosted at the William F. Laman Library’s Main branch and Argenta branch, the book-club-meets-scavenger-hunt will introduce people to Bang-Up Betty jewelry and encourage people to read more.

“Follow the clues, find the books and get biblio-centric gifts to take home when you checkout,” explains Stacey. “Many random readers will also get nice surprises when they open books they’ve checked out from Laman Library.”

Follow Bang-Up Betty on Facebook and Instagram for clues.

Both branches of Laman Library require masks to enter and offer curbside service. You can book curbside appointments by logging on to your http://www.lamanlibrary.org account and placing items on hold. When they’re ready, the library will call to set up a convenient pick up time. Don’t have a library card? Signing up for a free card is easy.
