Memorial Day weekend in North Little Rock

Have family or friends in town for Memorial Day weekend? Here are five things to do in North Little Rock that everyone can enjoy.

Northshore Balloonfest (Friday – Sunday)

Northshore Balloonfest at the Northshore Golf Range in North Little Rock will feature live music, tethered balloon rides and balloon glow and helicopter rides. (Sorry, they’re already sold out of the balloon flights!) Day passes and weekend passes available, ranging $20 – $45. Featuring bluegrass, country and motown, the live music acts perform Friday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Balloon activities are 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday – Sunday.

Tour a WWII submarine (Friday – Sunday)

Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, 120 Riverfront Park Drive, North Little Rock

How fitting for Memorial Day weekend, to learn more about the lives of those who protect us daily. The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum provides firsthand experience of what it’s like to work and live in a submarine, as well as the tugboat Hoga which fought fires and moved ships in the Pearl Harbor attack of 1941. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Shop local for weekend fixin’s (Saturday)

7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Argenta Farmers Market, Argenta Plaza, 510 Main Street, North Little Rock

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: St. Joseph Farm Stand, 6800 Camp Robinson Road, North Little Rock (also…goat yoga at 10 a.m.!)

Cheer on the Travs (Friday – Sunday)

Dickey-Stephens Park, 600 N. Broadway Street, North Little Rock

Arkansas Travelers will playing Tulsa at Dickey-Stephens Park all weekend! Catch the game at 7:10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:10 p.m. on Sunday. The kids will love the new splash pad, and Friday night stick around for a post-game fireworks show!

Check out The Filling Station (Friday – Sunday)

There’s no better time to visit The Filling Station in the Park Hill area of North Little Rock. With a strong rotation of food trucks lined up, The Filling Station also has a small market, outdoor seating and sometimes even live music. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will have various food trucks throughout the day starting at 10 a.m., with snow cones all three days.
