“Ring in the new year” has a nicer ring to it this time around. North Little Rock restaurants want to help you celebrate the arrival of 2021 with special menus for both dine-in and to-go, and entertainment. This is a working list, in no way comprehensive. Check with your favorite local restaurants to see if they will be open for dine-in or to-go on New Year’s Eve to make your low-key celebration special. Here’s general lists to get you started (ask individual restaurants about their open hours during the holidays):
Brood & Barley
Brood & Barley at 411 Main Street in North Little Rock wants to turn back time. Watch the 2019 ball drop with them at 9 p.m. on December 31st, to see if they can hit reset for 2021. Brood & Barley’s full menu will be available as well as TWO next level dinner options (“The Baller” or “The Shot Caller”) for two! Everyone receives a complimentary glass if champagne for the ball drop. Masks required. Call 501-400-8967 to reserve.
Cypress Social
Cypress Social at 7103 Cock of the Walk Lane in North Little Rock is helping you celebrate with a special dinner for dine-in or to-go! If you’re dining in, make a reservation at 501-916-2670 to enjoy a $75 Pre-Fixe Menu and $25 for sommelier selected wine pairings (plus tax and gratuity). Masks required. To-go orders for the $75 Pre-Fixe Menu (plus tax) must be placed by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30th. Dinners will be hot and ready to eat for pick ups between 4pm-9pm. Specify time of requested pick up on online order form (by every half hour).
The Joint Theater (January 2)
The Joint Theater & Coffeehouse at 301 Main Street is going to start 2021 right – with some much-needed laughter! Comedy Night on Saturday, January 2, is a two-part show featuring Stand-Up Comedy by Devincey Moore, Zane Lovelady and Jared Lowry followed by a 45-minute Improv Comedy show. Seating is limited so call 501-372-0205 to reserve your seats as soon as possible. Doors Open at 7pm. Showtime is at 8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Drink specials all night! Masks are required.
Whole Hog Cafe
Whole Hog Cafe North Little Rock at 5107 Warden Road will be open New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for dine-in, to-go and delivery. We highly recommend ordering the Buddy Paks, which include meat, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, buns, sauce and even plates and plasticware.
Flyway Brewing
Join Flyway Brewing at 314 Maple Street in North Little Rock for a safe, socially distant outdoor watch party on New Year’s Eve at 7 p.m. Help call the Hogs for the 2020 Texas Bowl against TCU! Enjoy beer and food specials at their “Tent City” and “Chalet Lane” with fire pits and football on their GIANT inflatable screen.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe at 3929 McCain Blvd. (separate entrance with patio at McCain Mall) will be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for dine-in, to-go and delivery. Their family feasts feed 4 to 8 and have plenty of flexibility for meats, sides and salads. Taziki’s is excellent for anyone who has family members with food allergies – their online ordering system lets you note any allergies on the front-end.
Four Quarter Bar
Four Quarter Bar at 415 Main Street will be open for a special daily New Year’s brunch at noon Tuesday, Dec. 29, through Friday, January 1. On New Year’s Eve, they plan to be open with a champagne toast (before 11 p.m.).
Tacos 4 Life
Tacos 4 Life at 4211 Warden Road will be open regular hours both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for dine-in and to-go. Taco family pack meals that feed 4 people include choice of meat, tortillas, toppings, queso rice, chips, queso and salsa.
Purple Cow North Little Rock
Turn the dial on your time machine to the 50’s, with classic American burgers and shakes at Purple Cow North Little Rock at 4201 Warden Road. Purple Cow will be open for dine-in, to-go and delivery New Year’s Eve 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and New Year’s Day 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Chuy’s Tex-Mex
Chuy’s Tex-Mex at 5105 Warden Road in Norrh Little Rock is hoping you’ll “boom-boom” into the New Year with them (a play off their very popular Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas). Order one of their family packs to-go for the whole crew.
Lindsey’s BBQ & Hospitality House at 207 Curtis Sykes Drive in North Little Rock will be open regular hours on New Year’s Day. Check out ordering the family pack to-go, includes choice of meat and BBQ beans, cole slaw and potato salad.
